Like everything that has happened up to this time, it has all been unique. The journey started alone, but like a glass that has been filled and emptied time and time again. No one is sure how it all comes together, but sooner or later you have to take control of it.

Each year brings on new challenges for each one differently, but similar. In the beginning, we all begin to take on own control and slowly building themselves into that first “I”. Start in the present, grow into hope for the future and all while always hoping for a past. The excitement of youth leads to the know-it- all of your first quarter century. Coming along where Every Journey is an Opportunity to Trust Yourself. What we learn from the beginning in that first quarter is built upon throughout life. Each of the early stages of age are the template we use as a base to build each quarter century stages. The first five continue to come around as major changes start taking place with our body mentally and physically. You must start paying attention to you. The Four Steps still leads up through that time before the new decade ends and the new things you have discovered are built on from there. The meaningfulness of thirteen makes for perfection at 38, in leads into the Sporty’s. By this time most of us may be deep into career, family and mortgages. The adult years has brought on many changes to that youthful person we were as we reach end of second quarter.

The third time around leads to major changes as you get to the half way point of 100 and beyond. If abuse has been your leader you can wear this constant changing body out sooner. You get through some of the adult life and begin to strive for old age. These ages in the third quarter century gets to a time where you have to start watching your body closer. As you reach eight is great this third time around the seven hundreds begin and brings a closer look as you come upon the six decade. Some things are still working and some things has changed drastically. You may move into more responsibility and maybe even better life.

This part of the reason I started to party every month. By the time I had reach 780, it wasn’t over, I was just getting to Opportunity of fifteen, the third quarter century. We all are blessed with what we think is suppose to make us happy, where ever we are. Some things for us as humans stays the same no matter what we name ourselves. The body we are blessed with is on its own clock, regardless of what we may think, we just a passenger taking care of the gears that keep it ticking. Today finds the world in a pandemic, over 105,000 dead in America in 90 days, as the nation continues to suffer under a New York Grifters grip. A uproar breaks out over the latest police brutality, knee on the neck murder on the streets of Minneapolis. People are protesting racism nationwide and the fear of white supremacist breaks loose in violence from isolation. It has all hit a boiling point. Here I am at seven eight nine.

Media life

When I started out on this journey there was no idea it would lead me to this day. The last years of childhood, the end of teenager age, but just the earliest of adulthood, this thought would be come a beacon of discovery that I’ve been blessed to carry out for 780 months and going.

Yes, it started out so simple, just a young 19 year old teenager on his own ,making up his world in life, as he went along trying to find his own utopia in life. None of us are so blessed to know where any thought originates but, at 19, one year into adulthood, this thought that came to me at that time and it would become the affirmation I would continue to follow throughout life as I grew mentally, physically and spiritually into lifelong learning.

I write in my being published book, QUARTER CENTURY LIFE -‘Every Journey Opportunity Trust Yourself’, by P.Rodger Wilson, that trying to make sense of this life is not rocket science, just at this age of stupid, exciting, still new grown-up on the job training time in human life, I was trying to figure out mine.

No one gets to pick their DNA, whose ever’s we get after that approximately 278 day gestation of male sperm meeting female egg, is what we we get. No matter when where or how from that the age is on as my sweet, little wise mother would say, ” Two times you don’t know baby, arrival time and departure time”. The uniqueness of human mixes comes in many shapes, sizes, shades and two basic designs. No matter when, where or how from there the human age is on. The great miracle, that allows once inside a female human to form a human body of flesh, bone, muscle, organs and a vast, beyond complicated comprehension of nervous, respiratory and blood flow systems of of cells that from now on, with little help from us, mostly on their own accord will forever work together for our body to age itself. WOW! How amazing we are.

So, there looking out at the heatwaves rising up off the hot plains of a West Texas Summer and begin thinking about what had gotten me to that moment. Laying on a bunk in a barracks, government issued, USAF Air Traffic Controller trained, and afraid as hell as what this adult life, out on my own would offer. What environment I had come from? Where I was now, and where I wanted to go all seem to be flowing around in my head together when the thought that would lead me on came in to verse, NEVER FORGET MY CHILDHOOD, ALWAYS LIVE MY ADULT HOOD and CONTINUE TO STRIVE FOR OLD AGE. and not knowing what the outcome would come I begin to create a attitude that hopefully would take me to different altitudes of lifelong learning.

So now I’m trying to use the social media tools in reaching a audience that may find some inspiration in a thought that helped me and may allow them to help themselves and someone else along their road. This is my first form of social media for QUARTER CENTURY LIFE since it went to print. I’m going to over the next weeks attempt to write about my progress on this journey of building a marketing plan to get the word out about QUARTER CENTURY LIFE and build on other platforms as I continue to build on my wordpress skills.

2nd Week

Everybody getting use to everybody. Trying who needs what. The beginning of the year is when children are measured so yo can see what you accomplish in a few subjects that you trying to get across, but the majors are language and math. Children are all at different levels and you have to find ways to find how well each individual. Got a chance to meet the children and where they are from, in the Bay Area, they can be from any where. Most of the class has been born locally, and one New York, Beginning to remember names learning about personality’s, learning styles, along with issues of each life brings itself. We had just had a talk about forgiveness and compassion and then the school was able to get a tragic story of hope and compassion to visit the school. The word “Fan” comes out of fanatic. One day your are the love of the family, a athletic brother and cute sisters. Hard worker, doing dream job, para-medic, who knows maybe medical school, right then, just living and having a good time. In California sine the move from New York, the Giants and Dodgers, have been the biggest baseball rivalry between Northern California and Southern California. Whoever would of thought this rivalry of nothing more then big boy toys, major league baseball teams, would change the life of three, just fans. Brian Stow and his two assailants would leave the stadium fans, but before they could leave the property, in a split second, like the home run off a bat, Brian Stow would end up with brain damage and two others, over time would end up in prison. He shared his story of brain damage, recovery, forgiveness and compassion to our children that may change their life.

Week 1 School

A lot of first happened this week, I started this journey as an assistant in a blended classroom of fourth and fifth graders. 10 and 11 year old, of all shapes and sizes, 26 in all, 14 fourth graders and 12 fifth graders. This being a parochial school there is a emphasis on the scriptures with prayer and Thursday our class church day. The lead teacher is in her second year at the school and will be credentialed in November. The responsibility of a teacher is tremendous. Twenty-six little minds, from all different environments to be worked into a coherent group of thinkers and learners, not a easy task. That why good teachers are the best investment any school can make. A hero educator of mine once said, “if you love children teaching is fun everyday”. This is also the first year of the Principal who taught 5th grade for 5 years at this school and is also an alumni. I’m trying to get the kids to understand learning is a two way street, and as a life long learner, you never stop learning. I’m still learning from them and teaching them. It will take awhile but that’s what early weeks of school are for. I also learned this week you must be careful what you say. A 4th grader came to me at lunch and said he dropped his sandwich on the ground what should he do, I said “throw it away”. He looked at me with his little chubby self and watering eyes and said, “the whole thing”. I saw dirt was on one side and told him he could tear that part off and eat the rest if he liked. The Principal asked me about it the next day, it seem he went home and told his mom we made him eat a sandwich off the ground. For me, a lesson learned, be careful what you suggest and how you say it. On my first day I gave the children a big word to learn, ACCOMPLISH. These early weeks we will get more into that word. At a morning assembly the Principal used the word BUILD, which worked well with the Priest sermon on FAITH and TRUST. I look will be looking for ways to help these young minds grow around these words. There are some real challenges in this classroom but, none that don’t appear, with work, can’t be improved upon. We all are on the learning curve right, now trying to figure out how we all going to work together for the betterment and education of the children and community. The teacher right now is working a little to hard and not working the students hard enough. Idle time allows young minds to wander, have to keep them engaged and changing every 20 to thirty minutes so boredom doesn’t make them sleepy. The challenge has started, I will need to work a little harder to ACCOMPLISH bigger gains.

1st Day

Sept 3, 2019, Its now underway, I am officially the teacher assistant for 4th and 5th grade. the hardest part so far is just trying to figure our all their names. I have been associated with private and public schools, but this is the first time with a parochial school teaching policy. Its a little different because you can use God and prayer in every lesson. I’m trying to play off the lead teacher in giving her all the room to develop her discipline style. Under no circumstances do you go to bathroom and definitely to get water during instruction. Must begin to set some guidelines early, so in six weeks its habit. I didn’t recognize it at the time it was happening but I saw my first student, being over whelmed and not understanding a lesson, turn into a stomach ache so bad, a drink of water, and a toilet visit couldn’t stop a visit to the office and a call to go home early. He has some learning difficulties, that without help now, he will continue to fall further behind. He does appear to have a little better grasp of math, but still low. Its going to take a slower approach to get the basics before they move on or more will be lost, afraid to ask questions. Building always takes a good foundation. Sometime you need to modify and slow down so every student has the basic down before moving on so as not to lose more, later down the road. Learning isn’t easy, we all do it differently. The challenge is to find each student their own unique way to do it, and helping them to improve upon themselves. Encourage, praise and discipline all work hand in hand on building a solid foundation for growth and more accomplishment. Tomorrow starts another day of learning from the bottom up, and back down on this two way street of life knowledge.

Why Today

6302019 #22 Woke this morning waiting for this day to come and it was all coming together. this was it the plans the dreams the places it would lead. The month ending on half a year. valentine, kites of March, April showers bring May flowers an summer solstice and the beginning of a new season is upon us. Made changes and sacrificed because this was it. All day nearly 180 of them coming to play on this one day. Waking up with joy to the new day is what has made them great. Each day brought something new and hope to another day as you were waiting on one.

Anew beginning for a caring baby boy with a arrogant older brother and brother above him who died way to soon. Sacrificed his young life and did what he could do to take care mama grandma, and all his siblings. Got so good at what he was doing, could take junk and get it down the track at 11’s and better. worked hard took care of sisters bought houses in everybody’s name, big heart as he was there was nothing they wanted for. jet skis motorboats, mobile home , shop was always busy. It was just another day waiting to come into tomorrow, until a stroke and heart attack changed his world forever.

Tomorrow brings on the first day of the second half of this 2019. Yesterday is gone and today is the only one left to make anything happen. Don’t put off what can be done today till tomorrow, it not the one promised. Why today, YESTODAY is the only one that counts.

Time, On Summer Solstice

621219 #021 Today is the Summer Solstice, where I reside, there will be 15 hours and 54 minutes of daylight. In our own lives we may have days of Solstice.

When I started writing QUARTER CENTURY LIFE it was a way for me to take a look at a affirmation I wrote at 19, about childhood, adulthood and old age Not knowing that these very thoughts I had that day would be a key to the seasons of my life. Time is everywhere, but my mom a small, sweet, wise lady would say “there are two times you don’t know, ‘arrival time and departure time’ the rest is your time.”

In my experience and research, everyday for children is special and some days more special then others. The joy of childhood seasons when creativity is everything we do, see and say. This childhood creativity may fade with age if not stayed upon. Childhood, that 17 year 364 day journey through time that gets us all in the same place at the same age, each bringing different experiences.

The FIRST 24 months where our morning, noon and night is all at the mercy of some one else. I use a poem called THOUGHTPHABET to engage in words the first months of life and how important it is, that care and nourishment is given at this time. Although these early childhood season gives us a start, we all begin to add to the finish. The first 24 months, leads us to the most exciting time in life as we get to the TESTING TWO’S, memory.

In time, like in life, today is the birth of a new Cancer season of signs, and as each long days of summer, gets shorter everyday and closer to another season, the same in childhood, each day begins to leads us closer to adulthood. Take a few moments on this Summer Solstice(a day late) and reflect, on you as a child or, you as a parent how beautiful each of these moments are as we move through time on this QUARTER CENTURY LIFE Summer Solstice of 2019.

In all your life, today is like no other day, it has never happen before and will never happen again this exact same way for none of us. This Summer Soltice 2019 in where ever we are in our QUARTER CENTURY LIFE, we are the most unique individual in this time. Each of us have our own 365 days, 4 seasons and Solstice days, even though at times, it can seem to roll all into one. The hardest part can be making everyday special.

Art of Reading

#022 62019 There is so many things that have been learned and discovered and not to be able to get information from print can be saddening. So much can be discovered from reading. What is reading ? When should we start reading? Are there basics to reading?

Reading to me has always been the ability to get meaning from print. Reciting is the ability to say every word but, not comprehend, get no meaning from what they say. My biggest shock was meeting a fifth grade girl who had lots of street smarts, could out run, out talk and probably beat up all the boys, and full of anger. The anger was she was reading at a hi first grade level. With her wit, and push them through attitude, she had made it to fifth grade. As I begin to talk with her, there were some basic things she didn’t grasp. The alphabet in the English language are more than just letters. I asked her about the consonants, and she gladly told me there were 7 continents, and I knew we were on different pages.

One thing I learned from having children in a private school, and teaching in a Title 1 school(extra funds for low income), would find out the biggest difference I noticed was vocabulary. This little girls language was learned from music, television and environment, one of her lines was “got to get them Benjamin’s”, reading just brings on so much more opportunity to grow.

As I begin to research more on reading AS REALDE THE READING BEETLE came through me. There are some things as a lover of reading, you can take for granted when speed reading through a novel or just enjoying a slow read through the twist and turns of a mystery, reading has not been that easy for everyone, and there is not just one answer. We all can sing, maybe not hold a note, but sing, talk, observe, write all leads to us reading.

I try to use the full scope of the Alphabet when teaching reading. Like I said as fluent reader there are some things you take for granted but you wouldn’t believe how many people guess at how many letters are in the English language Alphabet. I use Song to stress memory,”There are 26 letter in the alphabet, English!”, Alliteration to increase vocabulary, Rhyme to help speech, Write to observe letters and words on paper, and finally, Read to increase comprehension, to get meaning from print. Vocabulary becomes prominent and can be increased.

When READLE THE READING BEETLE came through me there was no READLE Academy where each letter of READLE has now taken on a charge to make better learners. R is read, do daily to be better reader, E is engage, we learn from each other, A is achieve, hard work pays off, D is develop, everyday make it better, L is learn, be a life long learner, E is excel, give what is your best.

Reading is so important, it allows the human mind of imagination and creativity to take fantastic trips, journeys and adventure through the minds of other humans passing on their thoughts, imaginations and discoveries. I believe we are never to old to read and learn more about becoming a better reader. The earlier we start the better, for more reading opens up a brand new world at any age. The stigma ” I hate reading”, can turn nice people into mean bullies to compensate as it gets worse.

It may not work for every one but know there are 26 letters in the alphabet, observe each letter, talk about it, write it down, read it. In reading I always say there are four words in the alphabet, hope you find them. Happy reading, make the art of reading yours.

Oh yeah HAPPY BIRTHDAY little brother another blessed year to be counted, HERE!

New Beginning

061920 #021 Hello my name is Paul and this blog is going to be mostly about what I have been and will be going through as I try an publish Quarter Century life. Each one of us arrive here on our on comet, pushed out and become human. The difference after that is what kind of human we become and that depends on many factors. I took my life experiences and life many titles I have had and applied them to a saying I had wrote for myself at 19, NEVER FORGET MY CHILDHOOD, ALWAYS LIVE MY ADULTHOOD, CONTINUE TO STRIVE FOR OLD AGE. Using this through out my life had me doing things om my own time. Quarter Century at a time and starting over. Having 1 year old birthday at 26, but with just more wisdom.

So now I have finished the first part of QUARTER CENTURY LIFE and getting ready to publish. Hoping I will be able to reach new readers , I am taking the wordpress online course on how to get your page started so this is more or less my first lesson, who am I? why am I here? Will use this blog to keep updated as I use QUARTER CENTURY LIFE to explain some lessons in early life, from the perspective of what we have in common in our biological age. There are certain thing we all go through and that is the lens I use when looking through at QUARTER CENTURY LIFE and what are some of the things we all go through at different ages.

Hopefully will get web page up and running from the new things I will learn on wordpress courses. Looking forward to this blog and maybe getting feed back as my blog become better, thanks

It was a good day I got up and did work out. I did get some things done, took care of taxes, 4 months to pay off IRS, didn’t get the break from new tax law. Took care of student loans, trying to consolidate, something I can afford. It was a Tuesday, I started my work out. Went to park, took walking stick. The fast walks up the hill just trying to get the heart rate up today. Going to take it slow get the yard cleaned up trying to get the schedule off and running today is the 19th and I want to make sure I had certain things done and check them off. As I move onto the next thing I took a look at the summer and wanting to start a reading, thinking program. Trying to make sure I can work it in my schedule before starting. Well can’t get going sweet dreams!
